When Dr. Hunter S. Thompson wrote Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream in 1971, Las Vegas was a different place from what it is today. There are definitely elements to be feared and loathed, but Las Vegas has the friendliest, most polite and most customer oriented employees I have ever encountered.
