Some have ended a bad day at the Criminal Justice Center at 201 Poplar (now famous in story,song and graffiti), while others may have been delivered a few blocks east to MMHI……

Yes, the familiar building at 865 Poplar -Memphis Mental Health Institute, is being demolished to make way for the LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center. The cranes and wrecking balls were active this afternoon.
The building is perhaps more familiar to some than others. I worked there for a short time in the early 1980’s after earning my Master’s Degree in Counseling, and over the years, a few of my friends were….. well, we won’t go into that.
