3 Necessary rants

I seem to be paralyzed.  Need to exorcise these 3 rants before  I can get back into the groove of my real life in Memphis.

1.  My beloved camera – I know it was my fault for leaving it unattended for 30-45 seconds, but, damn, I really loved that little Canon SD770IS Elph.  Best compact camera I ever had.  Had to buy a less-featured replacement.  I hope whoever has it appreciates it, and that every time they look through the viewfinder, the word KARMA pops up.  Iphones, purses, diamond rings and other cameras were turned at the NAR lost and found booth, but not my Canon.

2. Airline carry-on baggage (especially the way USAir deals with it) -  Ever since the airlines started charging for checked baggage, and even before that, some folks seem to feel that they have to challenge the posted and published size limits by bringing on huge pieces of luggage, causing delays in boarding and de-boarding.  This could be easily remedied if the airlines would force each passenger to fit his/her carry-on into that size thing at every gate, or better yet, at checking or before going through TSA.  USAir encourages bad behavior by gate checking lots of baggage for free, while announcing over and over for passengers to stow baggage under the seat in front of them.  And that piece of “equipment” they fly,  the CRJ900 does not have bins large enough to accommodate even legal sized baggage.

3.  Memphis weather – I have been chilly and depressed all day.  It’s gray and cold, but I can’t really complain much, considering that San Diego, where I just spent 6 days, has the climate that God, Himself, created for heaven.  No wonder houses are 5 times more expensive there than here.  They are worth it!

I feel better now.  Time to get back to work.
