Benjamin L. Hooks was one of those people who made you feel proud to be a Memphian.

Hooks, former executive director of the NAACP , civil rights pioneer, minister, attorney and former head of the FCC died last night in Memphis.  He was 85.

He was remembered on the floor of Congress today by Congressman Steve Cohen.
