Early voting begins July 13 for the August 2 Shelby County election.  The August election usually is a low key, low turnout affair, but I suggest you take a look at the SAMPLE BALLOT for the Shelby County Election.  This election has Democrat and Republican Primaries for US Senator, 8th and 9th District US Congressperson, Tennessee State Senate, and Tennessee House of Representatives.

This is also the General Election for Shelby County District Attorney, Shelby County Commissioner District 1 Position 3, Property Assessor, General Sessions Court Clerk,  and the Shelby County Board of Education.  The Millington Municipal Election is on the ballot as well as ordinances for the Shelby County suburban towns adoption of municipal school districts.
