When I posted this picture of some signs on a local independent hardware store on Facebook a few days ago, I just thought it was interesting that the bed bug problems we hear about in other parts of the country, especially New York City, have given rise to bed bug killer sales and marketing here in Memphis.
I have never seen a bed bug, although I have been looking a little more closely since my friend from NYC came for the weekend a while back. I thought I was safe until my friend Tamara J. sent me the link for the Bed Bug Registry. The Bed Bug Registry is a free, public database of user-submitted bed bug reports from across the United States and Canada. Founded in 2006, the site has collected about 20,000 reports covering 12,000 locations.
You can search particular hotels or addresses for bed bug reports, or just do a general search for city and state. CAUTION: DO NOT SEARCH MEMPHIS, TN!
