Alex Chilton

Alex Chilton was a my age, a Memphis contemporary.  While I was struggling to stay on the honor roll and get into college, Alex became a teen rock star.  I went to college;  he went on to pursue his own dreams.  I met Alex a few times during the Big Star years, but never really knew him.  Listening to the Boxtops as a teen and being in the radio business during the 1970’s, I realized his impact on the music world.

I will leave the history and reviews to the professionals, and just offer my condolences to my good friend Cecelia Chilton (Alex’s sister), his wife, family, friends and family.
